Family connections for David (Densham) are: Some amendments added Jul 2025. DENSHAM David (Densham) son of Richard (Densham) & Mary (Blackmore) was born at Dunchideck Exeter Devonshire on 9 11 1766 & became a carpenter. He was tried, while living at Brampford Speke, for stealing carpentry tools, on 15 12 1789, of James (Daveye) at Devon Quarter Sessions, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 20 8 1791 after a voyage of 5months on Fleet ship ATLANTIC. His surname is variously (Densham/Dencham/Dunston/Dunstan). He married Mary (Mullender) on 17 8 1794 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. In 1828 he had 50 acres at Wilberforce. He died on 5 12 1836 age70 & was buried at Wilberforce. [Some details taken from this Website] Mary (Mullender) was born about 1765/7 & became a cotton spinner. She was tried for stealing clothing at Essex Assizes Chelmsford, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 3 6 1790 after a voyage of 12months on Fleet ship LADY JULIANA-a ship with 228females who easily entertained the whole crew & also sailors at Teneriffe stopover. She had ownership of her own property. She died om 27 3 1836 age71 at Wilberforce. He was tried for housebreaking the property of Right Honourable William (Hurry) Earl of Darlington of St James Square w/1other (John (Primrose mentioned BELOW)), on 17 5 1816, & stealing household goods atc of William (Hurry) Samuel (Mitchel) & Richard (Whittington) at Old Bailey, sentenced to death which was apparantly commuted to Life, held probably at London/Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 10 4 1817 after a voyage of 5months on MORLEY; he was Protestant; he was sent to Windsor for distribution. He became a teacher & taught school from 1820 at new school at Windsor until 1842-also as schoolmaster & performing duties of parish clerk. He was issued his Conditional Pardon on 25 10 1821. He was recorded at Wilberforce in 1825. He was recorded in 1828 with his family at Wilberforce & in 1827 & 1828 as a schoolmaster. He was a farmer at Freemans Reach nr Windsor in September 1872 when the land & effects of his wife were passed to him. David Densham came from Brampford Speke, (few miles north of Exeter) and was a carpenter. On the 15/12/1789 he stole from James Daveye "One Philaster Plane of the Value of One Shilling and one Augur of the Value of Six Pence". It was a more serious theft of tools which led to his transportation. On 05/04/1790 he stole from William Howell also of Brampford Speke, "Two Saws of the Value of Eight Shillings One Stock and Eight Bits of the Value of Ten Shillings, Three Chizzels of the Value of Nine Pence, Two Planes of the Value of One Shilling, Tw Squares of the Value of One Shilling, One Mallett of the Value of Six Pence, Two Gauges of the Value of Three Pence, One pair of Compasses of the Value of Two Pence, One scrap of the Value of One Penny and One Small Spoke shave (instrument similar to a plane, ut for working on curved surfaces - especially for making wheel-spokes) of the Value of Nine Pence". He was indicted on the 14/4/1790 and sentenced to a term of 7 years in "such of His Majesty's Dominions beyond the Seas as His Majesty may be pleased to direct".
