Owen was tried in 1791 at Tholsel Dublin City and sentenced to seven years transportation for stealing sheep skins. He was transported aboard the ship Sugar Cane and upon arrival in the colony was described as a Protestant sawyer age 22. He lived [1] 1797 with Jane Walker (Convict, Marquis Cornwallis, 1796) [2] 1803 Judith Rose. He died in 1832 at Parramatta.

Owen appears to have had a relationship with Jane Walker soon after arrival in the colony. They had a daughter Elizabeth born 1797.
This relationship did not last long at all and Jane can be found elsewhere by 1806.

Owen died in 1832.  Also in the same plot area are other members of the family, including his daughter Elizabeth and amazingly, Jane Walker.
Sacred to the memory of OWEN FARRELL who departed this life at Sydney 6th November 1832 aged 62 years.
Also of EMMA TAYLOR Granddaughter of the above. Died 16th June 1835 aged 19 Months.
Also of JANE WALKER died 6th November 1838 aged 75 years.
Also of EUPHEMIA TAYLOR died 16th May 1845 age 3 weeks.
