On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Convict Notes
George Smith was one of a large group of defendants tried for possession of a forged note (all pleading guilty) and trying to conceal evidence of forgery (acquitted as no evidence offered). This was probably a plea bargain. (Proceedings of the Old Bailey trial date 14 February 1821)
