Tried at High Court, Edinburgh, 1 Nov 1832 James Groundwater, son of William Groundwater, shoemaker, Verdict: Guilty, Sentence: Transportation - 14 years Previous convictions: theft. William McAdam, son of James McAdam, mason, Verdict: Guilty, Sentence: Transportation - 7 years Previous convictions: theft. **William McAdam was also on board the Isabella** James was 21 years old on arrival in VDL, born in Musselburgh- transported for breaking into a hen-house. 1833 Muster: Assigned to Mr. J. Wintle 1835 Muster: Assigned to Mr. J. Brodie. 15/6/1842: CP 28/1/1847: COF 23/8/1852:Married Marion (Mary Ann) Telford (Aurora) at the Minister's House at Bothwell. James was 38 and a shepherd, she was 29 a Housemaid, Listed as 'Mary Ann Telford'. No children listed. James was still alive in 1863 when he was suspected of arson in Campbell Town. No death date found. 3/3/1876: Mary Ann Groundwater, aged 50, died at Ringarooma of Paramenia. Shepherd's wife.
