Convict Notes
Was a hotel licensee at the "Constitution" Lothian St, Hotham, until his death in 1866. His wife Mary, carried on the license for another year. He is buried in Melbourne General Cemetery.
This convict was actually John "MURRAY" and the Morray was a typo, I'm quite sure. 6/6/1844: Married Mary Davis (Emma Eugenia) Mary was 19 and John 27. They had 1 child, Peter John Murray, and some others. 8/9/1854: John was a steerage passenger on the 'Lady Bird' Launceston to Melbourne. Could not pinpoint the passage for Mary and the children, but they all went, they had more children in Victoria, many of them died young. No death dates for John or Mary found.
