TRIED: 18 October 1833 for stealing a pigeon; he had a previous (unspecified) conviction for a felony. He was married (see England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892; England, Lincolnshire 1833). LINCOLN GAOL: John Pinder Croft, married, 26, born 1807 at Great Grimsby, labourer, charged with stealing and sentenced to 7 years was admitted to Lincoln Jail on 21 October 1833 (see UK, Prison Commission Records, 1770-1951). ADMITTED TO THE HULK: John Pinder Croft, 26 (born 1807), was received aboard the Justitia moored at Woolwich on 5 Nov 1833, having been convicted at Kirton. His conduct was described as "orderly". He was transported from the hulk on 8 June 1834 (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849; Justitia Register 1803-1836). DEATH: John Pinder Croft never sailed for VDL. He died at Cork on 27 September 1834 (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-7$init=CON31-1-7p294).
