Their crimes included varous forms of stealing and robbery, assault, vagrancy, highway robbery, house robbery, receiving, assault, manslaughter and whiteboy crimes.

Tried and convicted in Ennis, Co. Clare Ireland as an Irish Rebel (White Boy) in 1831, charged with demanding arms, sentenced to transportation for life. The Whiteboys were a secret Irish agrarian organisation that started in the 18th century in Ireland which used violent tactics to defend tenant farmer land rights for subsistence farming. Their name derives from the white smocks the members wore in their nightly raids. Left Cork on 6th August 1831. Ship:- the 'Asia V' sailed with 220 male convicts on board of which 14 died during the voyage. Arrived on 2nd December 1831. Married Sarah Search (daughter of convict Danile Search, 'Atlas' 1819, & his wife Mary Ann Freebody) on 24th March 1845 at St. Matthew's Church Windsor.
