I believe Joshua was actually on the Charlotte 1788 Jan Joshua Peck, Tried at Devon ENG, 1786 Arrived per Charlotte 1788, Arrival Status: First Fleeter, Convict, Age: 32 years, Birth Year: 1755c, Spouse Mary Frost, Married: 1791, Died: 1825 at Newcastle NSW

All convicts from the Dunkirk Hulk were boarded to either Charlotte or Friendship. There is no reason they would transfer one convict quite some distance from Plymouth to Portsmouth to embark him on Scarborough. There is one source from HO11 which cites in error that Peck arrived on Scarborough. This is an index to convict arrivals compiled some years after the fact by clerical staff in England, and is in conflict with every other piece of primary evidence

Joshua was charged on the 20th March 1786 before Sir James Eyre and Sir Beaumont Hotham at the Devon Lent Assizes held at Exeter for stealing one cloth coat valued at 30 shillings and other goods to the value of 16 shillings, the property of John Scadding and Robert Turpin. He was also charged for burglariously breaking and entering the dwellinghouse of Sarah Mitchell a widow, about one in the night and stealing 3 silvercastors, value of 58 shillings and other goods valued at 20 shillings. He was found guilty on the first charge and guilty on of stealing on the second charge. He was found not guilty of breaking and entering, sentenced to transportation beyond the seas for the term of 7 years. Joshua was sent along with 19 other Exeter convicts in a wagon from the Gaol to Plymouth and there put on the hulk 'Dunkirk'. Left England on 13th May 1787. Ship:- the 'Scarborough' sailed with 208 male convicts on board, there were no reported deaths during the voyage. Arrived on 26th January 1788. Assigned to work for the medical staff in the laboratory tent at Port Jackson. July 1788 - Charged, but acquitted, of the theft of bottles of hospital wine 2nd October 1788 - Sent to Norfolk Island on the 'Golden Grove' December 1791 - Recorded as a member of the Night Watch at Grenville Vale April 1793 - Returned to Port Jackson on the 'Chesterfield', Mary and their son John accompanied him. He received a 30 acre grant at Prospect, where Elizabeth was born, and this was increased by 50 acres in May 1797 1803 - After selling his farm to pay creditors Joshua and his family returned to Norfolk Island August 1807 - Listed as occupying a 25 acre farm with 10 hogs and 300 bushels of grain in store 26th December 1807 - The family went to Van Diemens Land on the 'Porpoise'. Joshua held 45 acres at New Norfolk in VDL 1809 - Mustered as holding 55 acres at New Norfolk He went to Norfolk Island on the 'Golden Grove' on 13th October 1788. Mary Frost, was tried at Thetford, Norfolk, March 1789, sentenced to 7 years, and arrived at Sydney on the Neptune' of the Second Fleet. She went to Norfolk Island on 7th August 1790, the same time as Mary Butler. The Pecks returned to Sydney on the Kitty' in March 1793, and received land grants at Toongabbie in 1794 and 1797. They sold their land in NSW in 1803 and appear to have arrived at Norfolk Island in that year. They departed on the Porpoise', which left Norfolk Island 25thecember 1807 and arrived at Hobart 17thanuary 1808. Some of the younger children were baptized in Hobart in 1808. They were still in the Hobart area 1811. By 1819 they were living in Northern Tasmania and were recorded in the muster of that year and the next. Then came a new encounter with the law. In 1821 - Joshua and two of his sons, Joshua Jr. and Thomas, were convicted of stealing Government sheep and sentenced to 14 years transportation to Newcastle in New South Wales The Hobart Town Gazette of 9th June 1821 reported in a supplement that:- Joshua Peck the elder, William Peck, Joshua Peck the younger and Thomas Peck, were placed on trial, charged with having feloniously killed ten sheep, the property of our Lord the King', and another charge of stealing a heifer. They were found guilty and sentenced to be transported to Newcastle, NSW, for 14 years. Jeremiah was not with his father and brothers when they were caught stealing sheep from the Government farm. Joshua senior died in Newcastle in 1825. At the trial of the Pecks in 1821 the overseer of the Government flock, Thomas Daley, referred to a stock-yard in Camden Plains, about 9 miles from Launceston' and said that the prisoners lived about three-quarters of a mile from this yard and were the only settlers who lived near the place'. He had tracked sheep to within 100 yards of the prisoners' dwelling, down to a creek.' Since December he had lost about 30 sheep. John Bourke in evidence said he had lived at the prisoners' house briefly, having rented 80 acres of land adjoining to Peck's. He saw Joshua, the younger, and Thomas bring the carcasses of three sheep and cut them up in the house at night. He said the family fed chiefly on salt mutton and beef, but the Pecks had no sheep of their own'. Evidence was also given by Ann Seaton who, it appeared, had lived with John Bourke, and supported his evidence. Thomas Calvin who had been assigned as a government servant to the Pecks, remembered five sheep being brought in from a hill by the Sugar Loaf (in Camden Plains)'. Sugar Loaf is a prominent hill at what became known later as Talisker. The Sugar Loaf is marked on Evans' map of 1822. Camden Plains was in the area where parts of McLeod's original 2,000 acres were owned about 20 years later by Richard Jordan, William Renton Kerr and Thomas Peck. Jeremiah's brothers William and John had other sentences as well. William Peck had been deported from VDL to NSW in 1817 for being a bushranger. (Note that Ann Clarke was in Newcastle at that time.) He returned in 1820. After his second deportation he escaped from Newcastle and was sent to Macquarie Harbour in 1822. John Peck, a native of Norfolk Island' was tried at Hobart 3rd June 1824 for receiving sheep stolen by John Anderson from John Jones at Big Lagoon near Jericho and acquitted, but he was convicted of a similar charge a few months later and sentenced to 14 years at Macquarie Harbour where his brother would have been at the same time. He survived those extreme conditions and died in 1872 at the age of 80 and is buried in the family vault at St. Leonards. Sydney Gazette 7th July 1821. Joshua Peck the elder, William Peck, Joshua Peck the younger and Thomas Peck were placed on trial charged with feloniously killing 10 sheep the property of our Lord the King. The prisoners were in this case father and three sons, the younger about 15 years of age. All were transported to Newcastle Settlement for 14 years Joshua died on 24th February 1825 at Newcastle.
