Register of Courts Martial. Private Richard Griffiths, 1st Bn. Gren Gds, Tried London, 14 Dec 1832, Proceedings laid before the King, 7 Jan 1833. Charge, Desertion. Sentence: Transportation as a Felon- 7 years & sent to NS Wales. ------------------------------------------------------------- Richard was a Private with the Grenadier Guards. Absconded. Griffiths Richard, Lord Lyndoch, 33-241, 27, Shropshire, farm servant, 5 feet 9 ½ inches, brown comp. Brown hair, brown eyes, lost two front upper teeth, flowerpot, W G and mermaid lower right arm, scar upper left arm, anchor, A G R G and other letters on lower left arm, third time of absconding, from D. M. M'Kellar, Strathallan, since August 30. NSW Govt Gazette, 2 Sept 1835.
