Captivity Hulk Records. HO-9-8-3. Page 10. Received one from Southampton, 26 Jan 1804, Richard Smith, age 13, Stealing wearing apparel. Tried Southampton, 13 Jan 1804. 7 years. Sent on board the Duke of Portland, 2 Jan 1807. --------------------------------------------------- SOUTHAMPTON, Saturday, January. Our Sessions commenced yesterday, when no case of any consequence was tried except that of Richard Smith, a lad of about years of age, who was indicted tor stealing plate, linen, &C. which was acquitted—but he was sentenced to seven years transportation, on another indictment for stealing two gowns, the property of Mrs. Parkman, of this town.
