1832, 13 February: On arrival in NSW, Samuel Hartwell was listed as 56, Protestant, and a widower with seven children. He could not read or write (see New South Wales, Australia, Convict Indents, 1788-1842). 1848, 1 October: Samuel Hartwell received a Conditional Pardon No.48/1824. He was listed as 74 years old and a farm servant (see NSW, Australia, Convict Registers of Conditional and Absolute Pardons, 1788-1870).
