Convict Notes
At the Court of General Gaol Delivery, at Douglas, on Friday sennight, Thomas Lynchy was charged with robbing William Watherton of Kirk Lonan, in June last, of £34 2s. and Mary his mother, for receiving the property, knowing it to be stolen. They were found guilty, and both sentenced to be transported for fourteen years. The robbery was effected by entering the dwelling-house of the prosecutor, in his absence, in the day-time, and rifling a chest of the money. Lancaster Gazette, 23 Nov 1833. Thomas's mother Sarah Lynchey, was transported on the ship Mary, arriving in NSW in 1835. She was accompanied by 1 male child and 2 female children, the youngest being 16 years old.
Thomas was granted his TOL in 1844 "To remain in the Moreton Bay District. The following year he was apprehended at or near Liverpool NSW and lodged in Parramatta Gaol, he was transferred to Hyde Park Barracks.
