At Warwick Assizes in passing sentence of death on Worrall,  (the quondam Jack Ketch, at Warwick.) for stealing ewe sheep, the property of James Lattimer, his Lordship said, ‘You, Thomas Worrall, are an old offender. It stands upon the criminal records of this county, that you were convicted in 1813. and sentenced  to stand the pillory, and to imprisoned for two years. You were since convicted of a second offence, sentenced to eighteen mouths imprisonment in the House of Correction. You have now for the third time convicted of sheep stealing. Yon are an offender hardened in iniquity, and so familiar with crime, that neither precept example  can have any good effect upon you. I shall therefore pass upon you the heavy sentence of the law.” Leicester Chronicle, 28 April 1821.
