"Around the Black Stump " by Roy Cameron of Coolah NSW published 1993. Pg 11. 1837 Along with 19 assigned servants and 21 freeman were working on the property 'Turee' owned by John Jones. John Jones arrived free on 14/12/1801 per ship 'Nile' with wife Mary and daughters Mary Ann and Elizabeth

Married to Lucy HYLAND in Burwash, Sussex, England on 26/7/1825, she followed her husband. Arrived 1831 on the "Emigrent". James was assigned to Mr A BUSBY Granted Ticket of Leave 1836. (36/1466) Granted Ticket of Leave Passport 1843. (43/179) Granted Freedom 1843. (43/1542) In 1854 moved from Coonabarabran to Maitland. Occupation: Miller 1844.
