Convict Notes
William Ingold was the son of Henry Ingold born C1785. William was 51 years old when transported for ‘Receiving’. 25/5/1812: Married Ann Claydon - they had 10 children, the first child being Henry Christie Claydon, born 13/5/1810 and who was transported on the Emma Eugenia 1837 which arrived in NSW on 9/2/1838. Henry was the son of Joseph Christie Claydon and Ann and the stepson of William Ingold. Two death dates for Ann Claydon, C1833 and 10/1/1858 aged 66/67 at Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire. Another son, was John Ingold born 6/5/1832 – died 14/1/1914. John married Mary Thisleton on 8/2/1864 at Milton, NSW – they had 15 children. John died at Milton NSW. 1843: TOL Goulburn 2/2/1846: TOL Passport 3/1/1854: COF 10/1/1858: William is listed as dying aged 72-73 at Elsenham, Essex, England.
Returned to Essex at completion of sentence and died two years later in the Poorhouse
