Frances ex Iris, a US whaler wrecked at WA 1855, then salvaged and rebuilt, made her first voyage as Frances to Adelaide in 1856 with 150 passengers. Re-registered at Fremantle in 1859 by new owner Wallace Bickley, she carried horses, coal, minerals, timber etc from WA to India, and passengers both ways (including one convict to WA). The barque was put up for sale at Madras in mid-1866.
