5 October, 1855: Admitted to Dartmoor prison, Princetown, Yelverton, Devon; inmate #3182. Reopened as a male convict public works prison in November 1850, within five years Dartmoor became reserved for less able-bodied convicts (https://www.prisonhistory.org/). Peter Borer's behaviour in separate confinement at Millbank was listed as "good". At Dartmoor, in public works, it was described as "exemplary" (Western Australia, Australia, Convict Records, 1846-1930; Convict Department, Registers; Convicts Transported Per Nile (R32)). --0--

8 February, 1855: Admitted to the Stirling Castle hulk, moored at Portsmouth -- received from Millbank prison, Westminster, London. Listed as inmate #1120, 22 years old when tried, labourer; Church of England, single, able to read and write imperfectly; brown hair, grey eyes, fair complexion, proportionate build, 5'3½" tall; small dimple on chin, warts on hands. Next of kin -- brother living at Dorking, Surrey (UK, Prison Commission Records, 1770-1951; Misc.; Register of Prisoners). --0--

TRIAL: 25 March, 1854: Aged 22, tried at Kingston-on-Thames, convicted and sentenced to 15 years for "maliciously firing a stack of wheat" (UK, Prison Commission Records, 1770-1951; Misc.; Register of Prisoners; to 1789). --0--
