National Records of Scotland Precognition against Jessie Kinnear, Marion Johnston for the crime of robbery and theft near the Meadows, Edinburgh Dates 1850 Accused Jessie Kinnear, Age: 22, Address: c/o McCabe, Blackfriars Wynd, Edinburgh, Origin: Native of Edinburgh Marion Johnston, wife of George Johnston, labourer, m.s. Telford, Age: 27, Address: Blackfriars Wynd, High Street, Edinburgh, Origin: Native of Glasgow. Jessie Kinnear was also on board Aurora. Marion was listed as Marion Telford on her records in VDL. She is also listed as 'Mary Ann' on later records. Marion/Mary Ann was 28 years old on arrival, she was 5'0½" tall, pale complexion, light brown hair, grey eyes, can read, man & woman dancing on right arm, F.M.B., fish above elbow right arm, Adam & Eve on left arm, cross G. heart J.M.J. eagle on same arm above elbow. 23/8/1852: Married James Groundwater (Isabella 1833) at the Minister's House at Bothwell. James was 38 and a shepherd, she was 29 a Housemaid, Listed as 'Mary Ann Telford'. No children listed. 3/3/1876: Mary Ann Groundwater, aged 50, died at Ringarooma of Paramenia. Shepherd's wife. No death date found for James.
