John Overton and Wm. Garwood were charged with stealing one boar pig, two sow pigs, and 10 other pigs, the property of John Shepherd, of Mendham. Garwood pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to seven years' transportation. Overton  was put on his trial, but the evidence against him being only circumstantial, and his identity not being clearly established, was acquitted. Norfolk Chronicle, 19 March 1836.
